Poem: Its Not Easy

When your laugh faded away
Mine grew silent while thinking of you
When your smile turned into a frown
My heart shattered in two
When the twinkle in your eyes
Grew dull before you left
There wasn't a single night that went by
When for you I never wept
When the hand I held was taken away
And I was left with nothing to hold
I tried so hard to hold in all the pain
To make myself look strong and bold
When I found out I could no longer be myself
Without you; whether it be far or near
I knew there was only one way to be whole
By keeping your memories alive with me here
