Poem: Why In This Time

A time to cry and a time to weep

A time we wish your soul to keep
Your laughter echoes within our hearts

While we sit and pray that we need not part
Our tears will dry and away they'll stay
Until we're reminded of this saddened day
Your face and smile we had grown to love
Has gone to soothe the Lord up above
The hands that stayed to dry the tears
Can be remembered through passing years
Yet we sit and wonder why must this be
Can't the heartache everyone see
Why must we part, why must you go
Our emotions are beginning to overflow
But then we think of the laughter and tears
And how they'll stay with us through the years
"My friends", you'll say, "You need not cry"
"Just let the sadness pass you by"
"Remember though as you say your goodbyes"
"I'll always be with you, right by your side"
