Poem: 7 seconds
4 o'clock in the morning
alone on the floor
another cigarette
cant seem to calm my nerves
cant seem to calm my head,
clear my head,
or even find my head
and the radio
attempting to play our love song
skips a beat
after only 7 seconds
5 random numbers
have called my phone
and i wonder
could one of them be you?
3 boxes on the floor
pictures of you
pieces of your writing
and one frozen heart
4 conversations
all meaningless
and my life
so damn predictable
so safe
so simple
not the same without your face
and i miss your gentle words
its so cold without your breath
but it wasn't even you that left
alone on the floor
another cigarette
cant seem to calm my nerves
cant seem to calm my head,
clear my head,
or even find my head
and the radio
attempting to play our love song
skips a beat
after only 7 seconds
5 random numbers
have called my phone
and i wonder
could one of them be you?
3 boxes on the floor
pictures of you
pieces of your writing
and one frozen heart
4 conversations
all meaningless
and my life
so damn predictable
so safe
so simple
not the same without your face
and i miss your gentle words
its so cold without your breath
but it wasn't even you that left
